The FDU (Flat Die Unit) was originally a development synergy project of several HAIDLMAIR GROUP companies.  Andreas Kißler, a proven expert in the hot runner sector with over 30 years experience, took over the function of FDU manager for HAIDLMAIR at that time.

After it became clear that the innovative technology could be used in many different sectors and that it would have been detrimental to the industry to exclusively equip only HAIDLMAIR moulds, the decision was made in 2019 to found FDU Hotrunner GmbH in Frankenthal. Since then, Andreas Kißler has been leading the team of experts from the hot runner sector, who take care of the continuous development and sales of the FDU technology.
